Position Summary – AI & Engineering (Consultant Level)
Deloitte Consulting is hiring experienced professionals to join its AI & Engineering practice. This team leverages cutting-edge engineering capabilities across software, data, AI, networks, and hybrid cloud infrastructure to build scalable, business-driven solutions.
As part of this team, you will help modernize technology platforms, drive innovation, and deliver high-impact solutions to global clients. You will work alongside top engineers to reimagine business operations and transform mission-critical systems.
Role Overview
Level: Consultant (or equivalent)
As a Consultant, you will independently deliver high-quality work within defined timelines. You will mentor junior team members when required and collaborate with onsite/offshore teams to understand functional requirements and ensure seamless project execution.
Work You’ll Do
- Gather and analyze requirements using industry knowledge
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle – design, coding, testing, deployment, and defect resolution
- Conduct peer and team code reviews to maintain quality standards
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and estimations
- Build and share business process knowledge across the team
- Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities
- Track efficiency gains and contribute to innovation initiatives

Engineering as a Service delivers end-to-end design, implementation, and technology operations. We modernize engineering teams, transform technology platforms, and deliver complex programs using a product engineering mindset.
Our flexible delivery models (teams, pools, pods) are tailored to client needs, offering engineering-led advisory, implementation, and operational services to accelerate innovation.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- 3 – 6 years of hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices
- Experience building scalable, secure backend services and REST APIs
- Strong AWS experience (EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, RDS etc.)
- Ability to design cloud solutions and select appropriate AWS services
- Excellent understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts
- Strong knowledge of Java 8+ features – Streams, Lambdas, Multithreading
- Experience with Exception Handling, Collections Framework
- Ability to write optimized, secure, production-ready code
- Strong Microservices architecture knowledge
- Experience developing RESTful services (SOAP is a plus)
- Expertise in Spring Framework & Spring Boot
- Hands-on experience with Spring Security & Spring Cloud
- Strong RDBMS & SQL knowledge
- ORM expertise (Hibernate / JPA)
- JUnit testing & code coverage
- AWS deployment & containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with Git, Maven, Gradle
- CI/CD tools – Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions
- Strong debugging & troubleshooting skills
- Agile methodology experience
- Strong client communication skills
AI Knowledge (Expected)
- Understanding of NLP, ML, Deep Learning, Computer Vision
- Ability to propose AI-based project ideas
Certifications (Preferred)
- Oracle Certified Associate / Professional (Java)
- AWS Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Developer – Associate
Good to Have
- Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn exposure
- Awareness of industry trends & disruptors
Education
- BE / B.Tech / MCA / M.Sc (CS) or equivalent
